I don't like being a sheep and reading something just because it's popular, but if it seems good I'll certainly try it out. Game of Thrones isn't my usual type of book for two reasons - 1) I avoid 1000 paged books 2) I avoid series that haven't been finished. Otherwise, it's right up my alley.

If you didn't like it, you probably wouldn't like it again. I mean, you might not have been in the right mood, but it sucked me right in...so if it didn't have the same effect on you, you're probably immune. :)Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629744053780948715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-37014226391231147182015-09-27T17:40:07.071-05:002015-09-27T17:40:07.071-05:00Hi Brian! I go to movies with my nephew sometimes, and I watch Netflix with my boyfriend pretty frequently. It's our stay-at-home activity. And since both of us are overworked right now, we stay-at-home a lot.

I also read, and enjoyed, the Thomas Covenant books. But I haven't gotten as far as you. I think I only finished four of them. But I have several of the others lying around here somewhere. Maybe I missed something the first time around! I'm glad you were able to fly through this one :)DoingDeweyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09902496432225294188noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-62302245261338736662015-09-25T19:17:44.723-05:002015-09-25T19:17:44.723-05:00Thanks Rezan! Thanks Rezan!Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629744053780948715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-5136006229343905342015-09-21T12:50:47.710-05:002015-09-21T12:50:47.710-05:00Great review!Great review!Rezannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-26369839006697484162015-09-21T08:40:50.873-05:002015-09-21T08:40:50.873-05:00Great commentary Rachel.

I suspect that I would like both.

Watching the television show is not an option for me these days, time is too short.

I have considered reading the books, and will hopefully do so at some point.

An Epic fantasy that incorporates really dark elements sounds very original.

When I was much younger I read the first six or so books of the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant by Stephen R. Donaldson. I suspect that they are very different from this series but they are somewhat darker then The Lord of the Rings.

Brian Josephhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15139559400312336791noreply@blogger.com
