They just sound fun. Maybe I'll add one to my reading list this year.Pooh Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14393993721799573490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-78025845621126267472016-01-06T05:15:47.543-06:002016-01-06T05:15:47.543-06:00Well, I guess I don't think all of Austen'...Well, I guess I don't think all of Austen's characters are very realistic either. I find them more satirizations of humans. Depending on the character, of course. Elizabeth Bennett and Emma are both pretty well rounded. And I'm guessing Anne Tyler is, too. Though I never worry about a bad ending. :)Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629744053780948715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-75330719411240094822016-01-04T20:33:33.933-06:002016-01-04T20:33:33.933-06:00I love both Heyer and Austin, but they seem very d...I love both Heyer and Austin, but they seem very different to me. Austin's characters seem real -- they are facing real things. Heyer's people live in a frothy wonderland; I never worry that things could turn out poorly for anyone.Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18005286623073064886noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-34565995570981225962015-12-29T06:14:39.494-06:002015-12-29T06:14:39.494-06:00I've heard a lot of people say that Heyer is o...I've heard a lot of people say that Heyer is one of their comfort reads. Austen is one of mine, and I can see where Heyer could be a close second. :)Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14629744053780948715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1951570178065446020.post-28290120309598426132015-12-28T12:33:42.524-06:002015-12-28T12:33:42.524-06:00I do love Georgette Heyer. After all, she basically started the whole Regency Romance genre. Hers are some of the books I pull out when I am having a bad day and just need a comfort read. I hope you enjoy exploring the rest of her books.Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07878149675832228998noreply@blogger.com
